The next "Urgent action needed to curb the invasion of the abandoned syringes" was rejected by the City Council votes with 12 contracts, 11 votes to 6 votes of abstention (of which No. 5 DS + JOINT G. SDI + n ° 1 of the writer).
It is therefore necessary to specify and clarify that my vote of abstention was the result of motivations and assessments diametrically opposed to those expressed by the other five councilors.
I found fully in line with the commitment to urgently develop the Plan of Collection and removal of syringes and simultaneously to be making a more careful and thorough control in areas known to be at risk drug-injecting equipment.
But I'm strongly opposed to the locations of the distributors of syringes in every corner of the City because of syringe vending machine is only a form of approval, endorsement and defeat the use of drugs, which should not be used in any way encourage and facilitate but they fought and prevented.
The philosophy of harm reduction makes me think of the three Chinese monkeys who do not want to see, hear and listen. The issue of drugs and syringes abandoned there in all its gravity and should be reviewed and reconsidered with a new structure and function of SERT.
