Agnèni Eugenio. And painter-patriot (Sutri 1816 - Frascati 1879). He entered in 1833, in Rome, in the study of F. Coghetti. Officer in the Roman Republic (1849), the fall of the Republic in exile in France and here in England. Back in Italy, fought with Garibaldi and nel1859 in 1866. From 1871 he settled in Rome. Its activity was intense: historical and mythological paintings ( The sons of Cain, Genoa, Gallery of Modern Art), and frescoed the Quirinal and Villa Torlonia, in churches and palaces of Tuscany, Liguria, and even the Louvre in Paris and at Buckingham Palace in London.
